Why do we study history?

Posted by on February 5, 2016

We study history so we can know solutions to problems that have impacted the human race. We study history to know how our ancestors lived, how they evolved, what type of living condition they were in, what kind of hardships they had,and what solutions they came up with. By studying history we can make our future better and not make mistakes again. The things which are history now would have been someone's present. So in other words,we are studying our ancestors present. Since we can not go back in time we have a idea of what happened at that time.

  • Balance is necessary between past, present, and future.
  • If we have an inferiority perception of our past, it may become an obstacle in building strong present and future.
  • Distorted inferior perception of past may bring down confidence in present and self respect in present.
  • Great past can give inspiration, values, and something to live for.
  • Lessons to learn- standing up again and rebuilding after undharmic destructions by invadors.
  • Take lessons and do not repeat mistakes.
